Anya Gamboa - Montelibano is the founder and CEO of Somm Vinery, a wine shop known for its commitment to offering exceptional wines for every palate. Somm Vinery is active in Bacolod, Subic and Manila bringing a diverse selection of wines to local enthusiasts.

Born in the central part of the Philippines, Bacolod City, Anya comes from a family of sugarcane planters. From an early age, she sought new experiences, which eventually led her to pursue higher education in California, USA. While excelling academically, Anya's entrepreneurial spirit also flourished. She launched a fashion startup in California and later founded multiple food and beverage ventures in Bacolod, including an empanada brand and a calamansi juice line. These experiences sharpened her business instincts and laid the foundation for her future ventures.

It was during her time in California that Anya’s passion for wine truly began to take shape. Exposure to a variety of great wines, easily accessible and affordable, allowed her to explore different flavors and deepen her curiosity. Each tasting offered something new, sparking a desire to learn more about the art and science behind winemaking. This growing interest inspired her to pursue a deeper understanding of the craft and the traditions that make each bottle unique.

Anya’s return to the Philippines marked the beginning of her involvement in the local wine culture, where she blended her love for wine with the entrepreneurial skills she had honed over the years. Today, she channels her passion and business expertise into running Somm Vinery, making a significant mark on the growing wine scene in Manila and beyond.
